Major changes are coming to the Cache County School District for the 2026–2027 school year, and many Cache Valley families will want to review the updated school boundaries before the new school year begins.

The district has approved new school boundaries, new school openings, transportation updates, Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program changes, and a district-wide transition of sixth grade into middle schools.

Whether you live in Logan, North Logan, Providence, Hyde Park, Smithfield, Nibley, Hyrum, Wellsville, Millville, River Heights, Mendon, or another Cache Valley community, now is a great time to familiarize yourself with these changes and confirm your assigned schools.

For many families, this means a change in school assignments, attendance boundaries, and daily routines.

Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Updates

The district is also making changes to its Dual Language Immersion programs.

Some DLI programs will transition to magnet school models, and transportation availability may vary depending on the language program and school location.

Families participating in Spanish, French, Chinese, or Portuguese DLI programs should review updated district information to understand program pathways and transportation options.

Why School Boundaries Matter to Homeowners

As local real estate professionals, we know school boundaries are often an important factor for families considering where to live.

School assignments can influence:

  • Home search decisions
  • Neighborhood preferences
  • Commute times
  • Long-term property appeal

Many buyers specifically search for homes within certain school boundaries, making these updates important not only for current residents but also for future homebuyers.

Staying Informed

As Cache Valley continues to grow, changes like these help shape our schools, neighborhoods, and communities.

We encourage families to review the updated maps, stay informed about district announcements, and prepare for the upcoming school year.
